My beloved 14 year old dog passed away last week. I decided not to return his ashes, although this box would work just fine too. I needed a box for my memorabilia of him - a few photos, ink prints of his paws, a lock of hair from his tail and his collar. Because I like to look at these items from time to time, I needed an easy-to-open box with a top lid, and this is it. Most pet crates have a sliding panel on the bottom as they are not designed to be opened regularly. If you need something safe I would go for one of these. If you want to easily see/touch the valuable souvenirs inside, then this box is perfect.
