Also, before riveting the mounting brackets, use touch up paint to seal the exposed steel after drilling, this will prevent rust and future headaches. Finally, be aware that a hand riveter tends to snap the rivet violently and may slip off you, resulting in a scratch. So keep your hands steady and be ready to retreat.
