Review on Redline Tuning Toyota Tacoma 2016+ Hood QuickLIFT PLUS System - All Black Components for Enhanced SEO by Raffy Baer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy installation, great functionality.

They are definitely worth the money. I'm not sure why Toyota just doesn't sell a truck with them, but where Toyota failed, Redline Tuning has bridged the gap! Installation was easy and there are several tutorial videos on YouTube if you need visual assistance. Once installed, open the hood, unlatch it, give it a little nudge and it lifts straight up! That's pretty impressive for aftermarket racks, especially with the Tacoma's infamously heavy hood. I've had them for over a year now and they still work just like the day I installed them. Now for some tips on the installation process. First, make sure you measure accurately. It is better to measure 10 times and drill once. You definitely don't want unnecessary holes in your expensive truck. Secondly, be very careful when drilling! Use a hammer and a sharp metal chisel to make a small indentation exactly where you are going to drill, this will give the drill something to hold on to. Then use masking tape to mark the drill bit so you don't drill too far, and apply light but constant pressure as you drill, and be ready to back off when you're about to complete the hole. Also, before riveting the mounting brackets, use touch up paint to seal the exposed steel after drilling, this will prevent rust and future headaches. Finally, be aware that a hand riveter tends to snap the rivet violently and may slip off you, resulting in a scratch. So keep your hands steady and be ready to retreat. I hope this review helped you with your decision, and good luck with the install!
