Good radios. Update January 2019

Update January 2019: One of the supplied batteries is empty. A fee is no longer charged. It shows full but when taken off the charger it beeps for low battery. The set contains 3 AA batteries with a capacity of 1000 mAh. Here at Revain, you can purchase 2550mAh Eneloop batteries as an upgrade. The radio does not charge these batteries straight out of the box. If you look at the battery pack, only 2 connectors are exposed, but the bottom left connectors have connectors. Inside the radio is a terminal on the circuit board that tells the radio whether to charge or not. A short piece of heat shrink tubing on this (internal) bifurcated connection causes the radio to charge standard NiMH batteries. With this update we get about 2.5 times more charging time and can easily swap out batteries for continuous use. A NOTICE. When making this mod do not use non-rechargeable batteries in the radio as it will attempt to charge them in the base. Nevertheless, completely satisfied with the radio. May 2016: Not sure about the distance but they work well up to a few miles in suburban areas. The sound quality is good and the charging station is excellent. I received an FCC license and am using it in high performance mode.
