I connected this to my Cisco IPTV because I wanted to connect an old Sony ES home theater receiver that doesn't have HDMI but is still excellent works surround sound decoding and amplification. Every time I connect directly from my Cisco source, the audio falls through the loop and no audio comes through SPDIF. Thinking that maybe HDCP was the problem, I added a splitter that separates HDCP from the signal in the middle. still no audio on passthrough or spdif. Turned off and still no sound. I connected another receiver to the splitter and there was sound - I connected this device and the sound from the splitter disappears. If this device is anywhere in the chain, audio from all ports will be lost. Neither combination worked for me - even when switching from a laptop to this device - with no audio or SPDIF pass-through. It's only a 1.4 compatible device, which is the old standard and I'm not sure how that affects things, but if removing the HDCP didn't fix the problem then you have another problem. Can't recommend, but if there are any suggestions on how to get this working I'd love to hear them.
