Fixed Code P0141 in a 2003 Honda Accord

Our 2003 Honda Accord started displaying an ODBII code P0141 (O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 2)). The resistance across the old sensor's pins was still within the range measured by our electrical multimeter, but it was probably the sensor anyway. And so it was. To replace the old sensor I had to loosen 4 floor bolts on the passenger seat to raise it, the connector is under the carpet under the passenger seat. You also need a special socket with a side cut-out for the sensor cable. Then it's a leisurely 30-minute job, 15 minutes if you're going fast. You will also need an ODBII scanner to clear the code after replacing the sensor. I found that on our Honda Accord I had to turn on the key but the car wouldn't work to clear the code. I used an ODBII Bluetooth adapter available cheaply from Revain and the Torque Pro Android app. But any ODBII scanner will do.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Something different
