Works but doesn't last long KVM

HDMI KVM Extender works fine when it works (more on that later). I've been using it for about 9 months to move my keyboard, video, mouse and audio (via USB) from a Precision Rack 7910 in my storage closet to my office, about 20 feet. The video responds without noticeable delays. I noticed that the video has small artifacts that are very noticeable in longer CAT tests. Keyboard, mouse and USB audio are responsive no matter how long CAT is running. All of my USB ports are USB 2.0 and as expected you get USB 2.0 speeds for any external drive or flash drive. That's why I gave this product one star. Works until it works. My device is broken. There is no video output, the LED on the keyboard flickers, and the mouse won't even turn on. I tested the monitor, keyboard and mouse on a dedicated computer and everything works. I think it has to do with the heat as there is no ventilation. So it looks like the receiver block welded itself together. I'm trying to contact the seller/manufacturer to claim the 12 month warranty. However, I don't expect much. For a $100 product, I suggest looking elsewhere for higher quality. If you don't want to spend $100 on a replacement every year.
