I decided to buy a modem after I saw my Comcast bill go up (again) and that was partly because they increased their modem rental from $3 to $5 a month. This modem is almost the same model as the one I rented through Comcast. Installation was easy. The only really difficult part was staying connected to Comcast for 45 minutes β and never speaking to anyone. Be warned that if you get cable internet through Comcast, you may experience some "downtime" - they'll need to give you the MAC address, which is listed on the bottom of your modem, and then they'll likely tell you what It can take up to 24 hours before it is processed and you can go online. Well this is a modem review not Comcast and I have to say the modem works great and it will save me money in the long run. Be online immediately.
