Review on Tetra ReptoFilter: Clear-Water Filter for Terrariums - Optimal Filtration Solution by Tricia Grundmeier

I have a love/hate relationship with this Tetra filter (90gph). When it works, it does an excellent job of keeping our red-eared slider's tank clean. We've had him for 10 years now and I've used a ZooMed filter but it hasn't been enough to keep his tank clean. Also, it was painful to clean. Switched to Tetra in November 2016 (thanks Revain for keeping my order history). This filter worked without problems for 1 year before it became too noisy. I bought the same filter, lasted 4 months before it started making a lot of noise. Bought another second hand. I couldn't find an alternative filter that got better reviews or worked with our reservoir setup. Worked for 8 months until it stopped working after another cleaning. Have ordered 2 more b/c. I still couldn't find a good alternative and the price has come down significantly. The first of these two died spontaneously in the middle of the day after 3 months. Now I'm on the 2nd very quiet, but let's see how long this filter lasts! Tetra should really pay attention to how many complaints there are about this filter. It's perfect for turtle and reptile tanks, but the failure rate is ridiculous. I think that's why the price keeps going down.
