A rare combination of price and quality

Opening the box was the hardest part of installing this product. It took longer to read the included instructions than to install. The fit was perfect, support and buoyancy were stronger than expected. Can't comment on durability but great value and ease of installation. If this last half is as long as my original $200 racks, I'll be amazed.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Expensive

They work as well as anything I've ever seen.

I liked the easy installation once I learned the little tricks. First, you don't have to completely remove the spring clips on each end, just slide them far enough to allow the post to be removed from the ball it's attached to. Also, my 2011 4Runner SR5 requires you to press hard on the tailgate during installation as they appear to be too long but are actually the perfect length.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Don't remember

So far so good with parts

Very easy to install - took less than 5 minutes. I considered several alternatives, but none of the products stood out from the reviews. Most of them worked initially but seem to stop working after a few months or a year. I chose this product and have not been disappointed. Works perfectly. Holds the door just as well as the original and runs smoothly. Happy with the value for money.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Slightly dented

The structures on my running gate have lost their load. I called the dealer and got an estimated price of $250. I decided to check out a few auto parts stores and they told me the structures would cost $36 each and you would need to replace both. I went to Youtube and saw that this task is easy. I checked out Revain and found that I could get interchangeable structures for about $28 for two. Arrived 2 days later and the job was done in 15 minutes. You do the math, I saved the bunch.

2 years later - still great

I prefer to write reviews after we've used a product for a while. Reviews written without actually using the product are suspect or useless at best. It's been a while but I think I watched the video to see how to install it. Installation wasn't difficult. They work great... summer in Texas, -8 degrees Fahrenheit in 2021 and normal winter temperatures... still working as expected. Heckuva bargain in price. However, they are stiff, so once they begin to rise, they will lift a small adult off…

Perfect fit and easy installation on 2011 4Runner SR5

Just received and installed today. Most of the exchange videos on the internet make the exchange more complicated and with more tools than necessary. I can only talk about my 2011 4Runner. Hammer to knock off the ends of the ball joints. They simply snap into place with a hammer. And everything is ready. They work very well. I'll post a follow up if anything changes.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Available in black only

So far so good on lift struts

Came into Revane looking for a replacement for my 2012 4-barrel tailgate after one of the struts failed while changing a flat tire - didn't know the door was so heavy as he collapsed on me. All the reviews said how easy the installation was; The hardest part was figuring out how to keep the back door at the right height (I used a ladder with extra scrap wood). Once secured, changing struts was as easy as changing wipers. It turned out that only one of the original struts had failed, although I…

Good product and good price.

I was skeptical because of the low cost compared to Toyota (and other manufacturers). I am using a 2013 Toyota 4Runner. They were pretty easy to install and worked great. Sometimes you buy something and can't believe the deal compared to other options. This was one of those cases. There is a video on Youtube showing how to uninstall and install them. In this video you need to remove the top support and loosen the bottom screw. The video shows using a flashlight to help with the bottom screw. It

Great OEM replacement - great price

I was looking for information and a part number to replace the liftgate pillars on my 2012 Toyota 4Runner. The OEM/retailer price was over $180 per rack (that's x 2 = $360). I went to an online parts store and found them for $122 a frame. So I went on Youtube and found a guy who had a 2014 4Runner and was doing what he was doing and went to Revain. I put them on today with no problem. Both take about 5 minutes. Very easy. A small flathead screwdriver to pry open the spring clips to remove and…
