Review on ๐Ÿšช Maxpow Liftgate Gas Charged Lift Support Strut Set Compatible with 4Runner 2010-2018 PM1052 (Without Ladder) by Saber Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great OEM replacement - great price

I was looking for information and a part number to replace the liftgate pillars on my 2012 Toyota 4Runner. The OEM/retailer price was over $180 per rack (that's x 2 = $360). I went to an online parts store and found them for $122 a frame. So I went on Youtube and found a guy who had a 2014 4Runner and was doing what he was doing and went to Revain. I put them on today with no problem. Both take about 5 minutes. Very easy. A small flathead screwdriver to pry open the spring clips to remove and the replacement simply snaps into place, no tools required. I would hate to see what the dealer wants for that 5 minute effort. The Maxpow stands look exactly like the original stands that have been removed. The Maxpow probably has better or better looking ends to connect the posts. Looks a little beefier than the OEM version. Same size, diameter, weight/weight (because I didn't weigh them). and overall view. I am very happy with my purchase as they work great, lift and hold my 4 Runner's tailgate and saved me a ton of money. Yes, I would recommend others to buy this item. I was skeptical at first after seeing such a huge price difference between the OEM and this product, but I feel like I got a product that is as good as what was originally on the car.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
