Although I don't use heat above 375 I made a video on how long it took to heat up to 410 it didn't take long it heats up quickly . The straightener itself heats up to 450. It was smooth to use, but the floating plates are supposed to help prevent hair pulling, but that failed. A photo shows where he pulled my hair out. It's a good buy, but if you're looking for something that doesn't pull your hair, this isn't it. Otherwise, it was easy to use, warmed up quickly, and had an auto shutoff after 60 minutes.
