I am an adult and received this to use for stimming. I have sensory issues and am very careful about the textures to focus on when I'm down, but I really like the different textures and the feel of the silicone on this teether! The silicone is soft but strong/thick so it feels secure. The nipple has evenly spaced bulges, and the line crossing it, where they converge, is imperceptible to the touch. The shield area has a light leaf texture and the handle is wrapped in a vine texture. All of this is very reassuring and I know this product will help me a lot. This might seem like an odd review if you're thinking about getting one for your kid, but trust me, I'm sure they'll love touching and biting it too!
