Review on PORUIS Lightweight Portable Dog Training Collar with Remote - Rechargeable, 3 Safe Training Modes, Security Lock, and 1640Ft Remote Range for Small, Medium & Large Dogs by Brandy Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does what it's supposed to do very well for my dog.

Fit my 4 year old dog perfectly. We were moving to a country house with a large garden and I wanted to let him go so he could enjoy the garden. But the first time I untied the leash, he ran away without answering my calls. After receiving the collar, I did two tests. One of them tested how hard the hit on my arm was. Even at the maximum setting of 16, the shock was comparable to what I experienced during a physical therapy session with a pacemaker. It didn't hurt me, but it was enough to get my attention. Another checks the range - I asked my wife to press the sound button on the remote control every second and left the house. The collar stopped beeping about 480 feet from home - less than the advertised range of 1640 feet - but I was out of sight of my house - there's a hill between my house and where the beeps stopped. Since my goal is to give the dog freedom by keeping an eye on him, this was more than enough for me. When using the collar, I followed a routine - if I think she's gone too far, I call her first, then tone, pause for a few seconds, vibrate, then pause again, then hit. In the first two weeks of using this collar I had to shock twice. Now he comes back to me when I call. I still don't take the collar off because I don't know how he'll behave if he hits a deer or a cat - that hasn't happened yet. I don't know how he took the shocks, but seeing him in the courtyard I think he'll agree it was good for him. I will update this review if it breaks or if the batteries run out of charge.
