Sometimes paper scratches
I bought these for a toned paper sketchbook I just bought and for the most part they are fine. A few things I didn't like: 1. There were a couple of instances where the charcoal had a "sharp" point and instead of lying flat on the paper, it scratched it. They are quite thick and therefore do not fit in any ordinary sharpener. Otherwise they are fine!
