At first this scale seemed like a cheap version of a premium product. I thought about returning it but decided to give it a try for a frosting. To my surprise, I liked the feel. Having used the Hario drip scale for years, I appreciate the grippy mat on top and the soft, grippy rubber feet on the bottom - the Chemex feels very stable. The key beep annoys me and many others, but can be switched off by pressing and holding the timer button. I don't like pressing the scale's weight platform to operate the buttons; It seems strange to me, but I think that's the nature of the design. the scale seems accurate. Its weight is very close to that of the Hario drip (the difference can be 0.2 grams). The scale feels a bit more sensitive than the Hario drip scale and I love how easy it is to brew beer in low light with this scale.
