Review on 🧀 Glove Box Latch Dorman 74364 for Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Models by Joel Mosqueda

Works great with a little modification and adjustment

First of all I am very happy that this part is available. Of course, I could go to Pic N Pull to look for a used glove box door, have it removed, etc. Being able to order one even if it's $25 was handy. The Pic N Pull was about $19 plus gas and time and if you can find the same color etc. Second, the glove box door should be removed from the dash by removing a couple of 7mm screws and drilling a hole. a few rivets. YouTube videos are very helpful here. Also, the inner and outer doors must be separated by drilling 7 rivets. Not difficult, you just need to know how to use hand tools, a hand drill and a rivet gun. I had a gray plastic color that worked well enough for my 2001 Suburban. I used the old mounting screws to reattach the new piece to the door so I wouldn't lose them. I had to open a hole in the plastic lever on the new part to allow the old rod to slide through, no big deal. The screws provided were too small to attach the front door back to the inner door so I used some 1/4" x 3/16" rivets, I had to rivet the doors together like they did at the factory. I can see this being a little disappointing for those who don't have basic assembly tools and skills as there are no instructions. I didn't need directions. That's why I gave it a 4.
