The unit I received was defective, the cartridge had to be squeezed hard and held in place to barely get a reading. I don't blame him that every product can have a flaw. The reason I bought it was because everyone says digital gauges are more accurate, and that may very well be the case. The readings were in the same range as other sensors I have (analogue) but the product certainly wouldn't stand up to constant use in the store. I think it's made for home use, nothing more. Also anything battery related is annoying, I was so impressed when I got my first digital caliper (I have over forty eyes) but it seems like half the time I use them, the battery empty. Now I have several of these and they all drain the battery if not used for a while. I don't know of any other brands of these, they all look the same, I'm sending them back because of a defective cartridge, but I won't buy another one, it will never last here.
