Excellent system on a budget

Excellent and easy camera in terms of plug and play. It gets more complicated when you need remote access via phone. A very good system for the price. You don't need your home WiFi to setup your cameras, playback on your NVR and view on your monitor. But remember, you must use your own monitor or TV, and I believe in that. will not connect to a laptop or iPad. Also keep in mind that they don't come with a hard drive, so they won't record (or play anyway) on your home monitor. I found out these are not wide angle cameras, I have a cheap wide angle camera that covers my entire front yard. it needs two cameras to cover the front yard with it. (a little disappointed) When the cameras are installed, they connect to the NVR wirelessly. But you still need to power the cameras with the power cord. So sometimes it's easier to install them where you have access to an outlet. When you install the cameras, there is also a small Allen key that you can use to loosen the different parts of the camera and move the camera up and down and rotate it clockwise/counterclockwise a bit. But I couldn't tilt the camera left/right. (This needs improvement!) I took a spacer (like a matchbox) and placed it between the wall and the camera mount on the right, slanting it to the left.) The final issue is browsing your phone, you REALLY need wi-fi at home. I've never figured out how to connect my wifi without an ethernet cable. This means your NVR must be within 3 or 4 feet of your home router. (or buy a longer ethernet cable) I thought you could connect it without a cable, but you can't. I'm going to buy a 100 foot cable and run it through my house. I don't know the phone features yet (still working on stinky cables). All in all it's a good system and seems to have a lot of features if you're a computer genius. That's not me. You just want to use plug and play without looking at your phone and just keep an eye on what's outside your home or office. then don't pass. This part is extremely easy. You don't need to connect the camera to the NVR, it's done automatically! Good. Everything else requires a bit more work (e.g. recording or accessing the phone). But still for the money I won't complain much. And the last thing I should mention is that I know some people have complained about the loss of communication with the camera. The farther the camera is from the NVR, the more likely the connection is weaker. My furthest camera from my NVR is only about 50 or 60 feet away, goes through 2 or 3 walls of the house and works great. Really good at night. Okay I bought a 50ft ethernet so I can see it from my phone. Failed to connect DVR to Phone app. Been working on it for a few days with no success. There are no detailed connection instructions. Spent 2 days with Revain tech support. (Maria who was just great) never found any real technical support for the China based manufacturer. Even Revain could not reach Everscu. We both agreed it was time to return this item and buy a mainstream brand. look at the monitor? Want to buy something else? Buy something else.
