This is a review of Blue Monster Teflon Tape, 70887, 1" x 1429". Not sure I followed this rule (no pun intended) (maybe just 2 wraps). When you first apply tape to pipe threads, it doesn't cure as quickly as white tape. However, once you wrap the tape around the perimeter of the pipe, it sticks to itself and becomes "tacky". Yes, duct tape usually goes bad after you unscrew something. You must use fresh tape. However, unlike white tape, it is not fully broken, fibrous, and difficult to remove. The roll is big and I have a feeling you're getting a generous amount. The blue color can be more noticeable than the white band. Overall the quality and thickness of this strap is very good. This is an improvement over white tape.
