No More Leaks!: Adhesives, Sealants & Lubricants

I have an old hot water boiler that was leaking valves and fittings. I've swapped them all out and tried two different types of thread sealant and a different brand of tape and it's still leaking! It drove me crazy And then I found the blue monster! Seal the first time, looks clean and very comfortable to use. I will never use anything else. Try the roll and I'm sure you'll see.

Thicker and wider (better) than white tape

This is a review of Blue Monster Teflon Tape, 70887, 1" x 1429". Not sure I followed this rule (no pun intended) (maybe just 2 wraps). When you first apply tape to pipe threads, it doesn't cure as quickly as white tape. However, once you wrap the tape around the perimeter of the pipe, it sticks to itself and becomes "tacky". Yes, duct tape usually goes bad after you unscrew something. You must use fresh tape. However, unlike white tape, it is not fully broken, fibrous, and difficult to remove…

Thread sealant is worth the money

It doesn't seem like a big deal for a little tape but I found a PVC leak under the kitchen sink and decided to try it before you call a plumber (connections temporarily sealed with PVC tape but they also started leaking a day later). PVC is cheap and in my case I was concerned that the threaded part is very short so it's unlikely that some of that very thin tape will fit.
