Review on Polychromos 36 Pencil Studio Set by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I need more than 100 colored pencils!?

Yes! I'm really. I've been a fan of Prismacolor pencils since the 1980's. This was my first set of pencils that I could call my own. Little did I know they were pretty much the best. And that I wasn't spoiled by any other brand from the start! Now some 36 years later I'm joining some online painting forums because it seems like the rest of the world has finally caught up with me and my obsession with painting. And I've read about different brands of crayons. One brand in particular is constantly compared to my favorite Prismas pencils, Faber Castell Polychromos. They are definitely not cheap. I bought the 36 pack out of curiosity and I have to say I LOVE THEM. I don't love them ANY MORE than my Prismacolors, more on par with my Prismas, but they really are very different. They feel much firmer in my hand. I can sharpen them down to the last detail to work on the details a bit and they won't break! Less time spent sharpening pencils is a positive thing about my book. The colors are great and blend very well. I can't blame them at all. I will definitely add to this collection.
