Cozy! for handlebars, headsets and stems

Hooray, I can ride my bike again. I'm buying a 2004 Cannondale F600 (and a 2005 Cannondale F600). 17 years and 40 kilos later I could no longer drive it. My back, wrist and buttocks will hurt. As you can see, I solved this problem by updating the seat and installing a Cane Creek Thudbuster ST suspension seatpost. I'm only 5ft 7in so I had to walk for a bit. Since Cannondale uses a HeadShock headset, I cannot raise the stem. Since Cannondale used a 1.56" steerer tube (until about 2014 I think) I can't fit a standard 1.5" short stem or adjustable stem. I've seriously considered swapping bikes. Luckily I'm learning about the rudder piers. After a lot of online shopping I bought this 5 inch SUNLITE MTB handlebar. Hooray, it arrived in the mail 2 days early. It's so light yet durable. I immediately installed and tried it. OMG what's the difference. My posture has improved a lot, which has made the ride so enjoyable. I wanted to drive down the street first. I ended up driving it around the neighborhood. Now I won't say it's a cruiser. ", but that's immediately the difference between day and night. I was also sure I'd have to buy new, longer brake and transmission cables; no. They're definitely tighter, but they work fine. I've found that there is European company Reverse Components that sells short 1.56" stems for Cannondale bikes called S-Trail 60mm (<$80). This should loosen up the cables a bit and improve my posture. I'll read the odd SUNLITE- Buying a 5" MTB handlebar. Step up for another bike of mine. Hope this was helpful.
