Love! Cognac mixed for Cognac shoes

I originally bought the Cognac color but it's very orange and doesn't match the Cognac shoes I used it on. I bought a light brown and mixed them up and it was way better. The photos show the finished effect, some also show the damage beforehand. I used a sponge brush and soaked the damaged areas, then lightly covered the toe and touched up other light damage on the sides. I then wiped the sock down with a dry paper towel to remove excess material. I think the end effect is a massive improvement and almost impossible to see from a distance. Once the paint dries I buff it with cognac shoe polish and fingers crossed it lasts for multiple uses. (These are my son's uniform shoes that were destroyed on day one. This color should help me live a year without replacement - I hope. It wasn't cheap!) Overall I'm very happy with the mixed color. It's a lot cheaper than constantly changing items. I also used light brown to touch up her dark brown belts and while it's obviously not a perfect combination, it hides the damage pretty well. I will probably buy a glass in dark brown next time.
