The laser etching is inconsistent-the size markings are very faint on some needles, and fine on others, but this isn't a big deal as long as you keep the needles properly separated. There are some imperfections in the needles as well. A few of them have some notches down their length, but almost all of the needles are fine in this regard. The tips are all fine as well. I have knitted several projects using these needles and have had no problems at all with them. Overall, I am very happy.These needles are not perfect-there are some minor imperfections and inconsistencies, but these are aesthetic, not functional, issues. For the price, I wholeheartedly recommend this set.
