Watch out for broken bracelet

I have a problem with this particular model. The only strap that attaches to the part of the trunk lid closest to the rear window is broken, frayed and torn. The spot on the strap where it broke was sort of "elastic" and weaker than the others in my opinion. Luckily for me, it broke as I pulled out of the driveway, but the entire bike and the rest of the trunk fell to the ground. This part of the product is not secure. IMO should be retired. I was able to find a replacement for the worn original belt.
