I use this control for audio in my kitchen. I have a volume control under one of my kitchen cabinets which then plugs into an RCA/power jack next to the receiver that feeds my speakers. The volume control and the RCA units are connected via an Ethernet cable (RJ-45 jacks). Bluetooth connects great. A note: if an optional cable is connected to the 1/8" jack, it will take precedence over any Bluetooth connection. We wired the Echo this way most of the time. So if we want to stream audio from our phones instead of the Echo, we'll have to manually unplug the extra cable. That minor inconvenience aside, we liked the sound controls and they work really well!
