Never screw it all the way in

I have used them 3 times in 3 different jobs. I thought I was doing something wrong or wrong with the existing spouts in the workstations, but these are the parts! In each case I had a standard copper stud behind the wall and all 3 were exactly 4 inches as intended. A male threaded brass fitting was soldered to the end of each outlet, as is common practice here in the Northeast. And yes, 4 inches from the wall includes this threaded fitting. Do these dance jets only spin 3 or 4 full revolutions at a time and then stop? No matter what I do (cleaning threads, cutting 1/8" threads, etc.), these spouts will not attach to the wall. So the spout ends up about 1/8" from the wall! So I end up having to buy a pad to make up the difference. However, with backing plates, the internal threads on the nose barely reach the external threads on the plug, making it difficult to grab the threads and start tightening. Especially since I use 1/16" thread -1/8" to try and make it work. The only thing I can understand is that those threaded brass fittings on the ends of the pipes have different threads than the threads on those pipes. What does it mean they spin a few times and then stop? Very annoying especially when these spouts claim to work 99% of the time just isn't true, I wouldn't need a bottom plate at all. Just for the record I'm a general contractor, so not a beginner or handw erker, I know what I'm doing even though I'm not a plumber by trade.

Pros

Cons
