It's time to replace the disk in the laptop. The performance of the laptop is enough for my tasks, incl. for games, but the hard drive began to die - slowly but surely the number of bad sectors increased (for the third time in a dozen years). I thought for a long time, studied, compared, and nevertheless decided this time on an SSD, because. technologies have already been developed and prices have decreased significantly compared to the previous disk replacement period. I was very worried about how the system would get up, because. I have the original HP factory software installed on the disk, including Windows itself. Accordingly, there are logical system partitions so that you can return the laptop to factory settings completely. But contrary to my fears, using the Acronis disk cloning program, I was able to completely copy the data from the HDD by connecting the new SSD via a USB adapter. There were, of course, problem sectors on which the program stumbled a couple of times and had to start copying the data again, but in general it managed. Next, I inserted the SSD into the laptop instead of the HDD and everything turned on, as it was, with the only difference being that everything began to work faster at times. I recommend. After some time, I decided to return the laptop to completely factory settings - everything went without problems, the programs did not notice the media change and the installation went off with a bang. Moreover, the complete installation of Windows and the "cleaning" of the disk took about 10 minutes, just the usual hours - I was shocked.
