Review on 🚰 1 Micron Sediment Water Filter Cartridge - FLOW-PRO 1M-4PK 4-Pack by Lisa Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good filters: water filtration and softeners

We have a 130 meter deep well. We're still getting a lot of very fine sediment. I have been using this brand for 4 years now. I change it on the first of every month, then the filter turns very brown and the water pressure in the shower starts to drop. Out of curiosity, I cut a couple of used filters in half with a saw and the discoloration runs through the filter. It's 1 micron, so they'll capture MORE sediment than a 5 or 10 micron filter. Some reviewers complained about the need for more frequent replacements. This is an offshoot of using the 1 micron cartridge. Higher filtration, more dirt, more frequent replacements required, but less dirt in our home water. What is more important, long filter life or less dirt in the water? When the filter is 'new' we have a lot of water pressure in the house due to 50psi and 30psi in the pump pressure regulator. The pressure in the faucet only starts to drop when the filter is holding back a lot of dirt. Our very expensive icemaker/potable water refrigerator filter (over $50 each) rarely needs to be replaced with a 1 micron filter right after the tank well, which completely offsets the small difference in cost increase of the 1 micron filter.
