The plastic clamp can be deformed by engine heat

The temperature sensor works perfectly. I bought this exact item 2 years ago and the plastic clip has warped due to engine heat. It eventually popped out, causing most of the coolant to enter the engine bay and overheating the engine. Thankfully, the 2003 Passat wasn't far from home when it happened. The clamp appears to have a lower melting point than the OEM clamp. This time I zipped the clip in place. Hopefully this will prevent a catastrophic coolant release.
