This valve worked fantastic! Saved me from a flooded basement and patio. We've had storm after storm this spring and we have a large storm drain in our backyard to carry rainwater. During sustained heavy rains, it does not drain fast enough and the water sometimes reaches a depth of 6 feet. Well, our sunken deck drains into a ravine in our front yard. So when it retreats, it actually pushes the water back down the drain and starts filling up the sunken deck! This happened about a month ago and we had a huge mess to clean up so I ordered this check valve and installed it. Not soon either! A few days after it was installed at the end of the patio drain pipe we had another big storm and the gorge filled higher than I have ever seen. The patio continued to drain normally and the water did not flow back into the line. The gorge stayed at a level of 6-8 feet for a while, filled with dirty rainwater, before dropping again. The terrace is drained as usual and the basement is absolutely dry. Worked great.
