Review on Electronic Specialties 530 DVA Multimeter by Jamal Yang

This gauge is recommended for analysis of capacitive discharge ignition and charging systems for small engines. Received my first meter and it was defective. I got full scale readings, nothing was consistent or no reading at all. I called the ESI manufacturer 3 times with no answer. While trying to get additional readings, I accidentally touched the selector and found the readings became more stable. It turned out that the selector switch on the 200 and 400 volt scales did not have the correct internal contact. I sent the counter back to Amazon for an exchange. Revane immediately sent another to replace the other. It turned out that when replacing the selector switch in the lower voltage range was defective. I called the ESI manufacturer again to see if they could send me a gauge that definitely works. You never answered my call. Finally gave up and bought a measuring device with a DVA adapter on ebay. What frustrated me the most was waiting for the first meter, then waiting for the second defective meter, then waiting for my purchase on ebay. Only 4 weeks to get my boat's ignition analysis tool. The customer service of the meter manufacturer ESI leaves a lot to be desired. Revain must have received a bunch of broken meters. Revain did an impeccable job. In summary, looking back, I should have just ordered a DVA adapter and a multimeter that can read up to 600 volts in the DC range.
