I was looking for a not very expensive speaker set for my work computer. While I didn't care about the quality at all, I wanted something that would sit in the center of the table and not take up too much space. I first tried a speaker kit I found at Revain for $20, but there was a noticeable hiss. I thought all speakers in the $20-$40 price range had a similar problem. But I decided to give this MICA soundbar a try anyway, mostly because of the said "noise-cancelling" feature. In fact, they don't emit any noticeable hiss, buzz, or hum. When I turn the volume up all the way and put my ear close to the speaker, I can hear a very slight hiss, but even then it's barely audible. While the speakers are expected to make _some_ noise when idle, I'm surprised at how quiet they are. No mess of cords running across the table. As for the sound quality, it's okay. It's definitely not as good as some of the more expensive speakers, but it gets the job done for my purposes, which consists of background music/noise at work and random YouTube videos of people talking. Actually, it sounds pretty cool for the latter use case. At $35 it's a lot better than I expected and I'm glad I took the risk of buying this soundbar.
