Review on 📦 High-Speed OWC Mercury Elite Storage Enclosure with USB 3.2 5Gb/s and 7200 RPM Performance by Gustavo Mathew

OWC went down. This was a replacement for a 7 year old OWC Mercury Elite Pro with a failed power supply. The new one not only gave me constant "Semaphore timed out" errors when trying to copy files (whether using Windows Explorer, SyncToy or Robocopy), but somehow the partition got corrupted and disappeared. I had to reinitialize, repartition and format the new hard drive. This happened to a brand new WD 4TB Blue HD which I loaded with files via a USB dock while waiting for this unit to arrive. So it wasn't the HD, it wasn't my setup (which has been clean/reliable for years) or a problem with Windows. It is clear that this was a problem with this device. I also have an OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 RAID chassis that is built like a tank. It has been in operation for over ten years. The on/off switch is also not reliable. It would take a slight accidental swipe with a cord or something to flip it over.
