Great sharpener but definitely not classified as 'heavy duty'
This sharpener is amazing so I'm so disappointed it didn't last long. I've had my first for a couple of weeks and the motor burned out. It's a decent price so I went ahead and bought another one and it didn't even last 2 weeks. I teach 2nd grade so this "heavy" sharpener sees maybe 10-20 pencils a day, if that. Very disappointed that this sharpener couldn't crack it because it really was the best sharpener I've ever had. It was the only sharpener in our school that could handle cheap non-Ticonderoga pencils. I haven't followed up on the warranty yet, but the details are supposedly covered.
