Review on M-D Building Products 5744 Heavy Duty Door Sweep, 1/4 in W X 36 in L X 2 in H, Bright Gold Finish by Michael Lara

I installed this on a 30" wide door so I had to trim it down. It was easy to measure three inches from either end, mark and cut with a hacksaw. The rubber part can be easily cut with sharp scissors or a utility knife. It was easy to mark the holes, drill some pilot holes and screw them to the door. It keeps out drafts and matches the rest of the brass door hardware. On a 30" door, this works great as the holes on each end are positioned so that they are still about 1.5" from the ends after I trim each end. But if I were to use it on a 36" door, the ends would stick out about 4.5" from the screws so they might not stay flush with the door and catch on something. Maybe in this situation I would drill another hole closer to each end and buy some more screws for it. The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is that it had a small scratch and dent over one of the screw holes. . It seems to have happened during production so I don't think the quality control is the best. This is a minor flaw that is hardly noticeable after installation and I'm sure this minor flaw will simply blend in with other flaws that come from normal wear and tear.
