Lens protection: The 3000 had no lens protection, so dirt, dust, sand and water inevitably got on the lens and really ruined your shots. This camera fixed that with a lens cap that removes the lens when you turn the camera off. It seems durable and keeps dirt out. Overall this camera is amazing, I took it white water rafting and it held up great (I didn't submerge it in water but it definitely got wet and bumped). This is a great camera for outdoor enthusiasts who don't want to lug around a huge camera, get frustrated with the quality of their phone footage, and want to shoot anywhere.
