The front seams give the impression that the cover is removable, but it is actually sewn directly into the foam rubber. Removable covers for similar chairs are quite rare. Maximum loads are used (the rider weighs roughly 120 kg, and it is used nearly every day). After only two years, the metal had burst and a new mechanism was required. After six months, one of the wheels finally snapped, and that was that. After a year, the armrest exploded, so we swapped them out. The second mechanism was likewise effective for almost two years before it was replaced. This is to be expected, given the chair's reasonable cost and its ability to support its maximum weight. But the question might be asked rhetorically: "Wouldn't it be better to take a chair that's 50% more expensive? Suddenly you wouldn't have to deal with repairs every year or two."
