We recently replaced the carpet in our office with vinyl flooring. Suddenly our doorstops weren't high enough and the doors slammed over the now useless doorstops. So I went in search of something that would be beautiful in our house (i.e. not bright industrial yellow). The vertical hedgehog looked perfect. And once here, it was! It has a lot of weight, so doors even heavier than ours remain open. It's soft enough that if a clumsy like me stubbed my toes on it, my toes were fine - not even oops! (Yes, I tested it, but not on purpose.) My papihua looked at him, barked once, sniffed, glared at me for fooling him with an inanimate creature, pouted because he was too big, and let him in peace. With a larger dog, your mileage may vary. I liked it so much that I took a lying hedgehog for another door. I think that says it all.
