This is a good kit for beginners or small projects. The color choice is great and the thread quality seems good although I haven't used it yet. The size is more like the sample size, which is not bad as we can try to get more of a certain color first if needed. It's color coded to match the DCM strand code, which I like to use on other occasions. There were 125 skeins and scissors in the pack but no needles so I deduct a point. The packaging was poor and fell apart very quickly. I wonder if the needles fell out. It would have been nice to receive the kit as advertised and not lose any part of it. updated: These threads are not as good as DMC strands. The color is matte and the same as DMC. It's similar but not the same. The thread quality isn't that great and I doubt it's pure cotton. I wouldn't use it for serious embroidery projects.
