I usually buy Startech products. I've had this Wi-Fi adapter for about 2-3 months, it was connected to a laptop with a built-in Wi-Fi card that only supports 2.4Ghz, so I bought this adapter. After about 30 days it stopped getting a signal, so I unplugged the adapter from the USB port and plugged it back in, but the inside of the adapter separated from the outside of the adapter when I unplugged it from the USB port. I was able to reattach it while the internals were still in the port and it still works, but I feel it lacks the build quality I've come to expect from Startech products. It gets a good signal and 5g works as expected, it's faster than 2.4Ghz but every once in a while I have to unplug it from the USB when it just stops working and the laptop doesn't even see the adapter but like me already said above when I pull it out of the USB port only the outside of the adapter comes out as the inside is still stuck in the port. This still solves the problem so I didn't bother contacting Startech. So be careful this can happen.
