They were very easy to replace on my 2000 Toyota Tundra 4.7L. We disconnect the wire connection, unscrew the only screw, pull out the ignition coil, put a new one, screw in the screw and reconnect the wire connection. 5 minutes work. I can't believe I paid $200 to a car dealer to replace the last one. I smeared some dielectric grease on the inside of the rubber boot to help slide it over the tip of the spark plug and potentially prevent sparking. Nothing crazy and not deep enough to hit the metal contact. Some people say it's not necessary, but others say it's a good idea. In any case, the new ignition coils work great. At the same time the candles were replaced.
