Better than no heatsink just slightly better than the stock Asus heatsink

I bought this to replace the heatsink that came with my Asus Dark Hero MB to cool my Samsung 980 Pro M2, to see if I can reset the peak temperature from 60 to 60 degrees. What I can say for sure is that it's no worse than the heatsink that came with my MB, but not much better either. I think the thermal performance of my case is such that even the best heatsink only has a 1-2 degree difference, heats up a little slower and cools down a little faster. Here's what happened here in my test. The temperature was the same or lower by 1-2 degrees, and the Samsung 980 warmed up longer and cooled down a little faster when the load on the video card stopped (my video card stays at 40 degrees without a load, but warms up ). up to 76-79°C under heavy load). As you can see in the picture, my M2-1 sits near the back of my 3080Ti, which maxes out at around 76-79C under heavy load. All that heat has to go somewhere, and my M2-1 is so close to where all that heat is being generated and radiated off the card that it's really impossible for a heatsink to cool anything in slot M2-1 without cold outside air could. blows over him. Since my case is a Lian Li OD11M, my cold outside air comes from the bottom (which is good for my bottom M2-2, which stays at a low 50s max with the stock Asus heatsink) and not from the side instead of the front . As a result, cold air is not being fed to my M2-1 to cool it. Instead, the hot air behind the graphics card is pulled up and back over the M2-1 heatsink by my rear and top fans to push it out of the case, severely limiting cooling when my graphics card is under heavy load and busy generated by heat. The bottom line is how much this product helps you, and how much heat is generated next to your M2 heatsink, is almost entirely dependent on the airflow (or lack thereof) in your case.
