It will rust even if you take care of it.

I only bought this knife a few weeks ago and am very pleased with the way it looks and how well it sits on my seat belt. The sheath is the perfect size and I don't even realize the knife is there, even when diving. However, the knife is already rusty. Rust appeared after my FIRST dive. After I finished my dive, I washed the knife and sheath in fresh water and let them dry like I always do with all my scuba gear. After drying, I saw that rust had formed on the knife. I take very good care of my dive gear and this is the first time I've had rust on a dive knife. I have knives that are over 5 years old and have not rusted. I would not recommend this knife to any diver. I don't know what type of stainless steel was used for this knife, but I highly doubt it's marine grade (316) or anything like that. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will have to look for another knife.
