Sheath lock not trustworthy

Very good knife, fits the hand well. Connected to my life jacket, the sheath fits perfectly, unfortunately very tight, and mine could have been defective. but the first time I swam with it, it came out of its sheath and sank to the bottom of the lake. The 3 click clasp wasn't secure enough to stay in place only to tread water, very disappointed.

Another Gerber for knives and scissors for divers

Great little Gerber knife! Since I was in the Boy Scouts over 15 years ago, I have used a variety of jackknives, machetes, axes and Gerber multi-tools. The clamp is solid and the blade appears to be of good quality. I ended up spray painting the handle to make it a little more visible for safety reasons. I attached it to my lifejacket upside down at the attachment point. The grip is excellent and the knife never feels like it's going to fall out.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad

Great knife for its price range.

I don't know what most people are talking about as it's a loose fit. I can shake it, I can hit it, and if I don't throw it like a baseball, the knife stays in. I have no doubt it will stay safe while boating, snorkeling or diving. It's not $100 plus a dive or kayak knife. This is an inexpensive knife that will not ruin your day if you lose it. The only thing I don't like about it, if you look at my photo where my finger is on the blade, I would like them to sharpen that part so that you have aโ€ฆ

Not quite a flow meter

Not good. It doesn't match the lash pull on my life jacket. Sure I could force it and distort the reed and my patience, but it won't fit the standard size reed on my Stohlquist PFD. And it doesn't look like it was designed for that. Isn't that what this knife is all about? It's not easy to sharpen, so it's really an emergency knife, not a utility knife, so it's useless if it doesn't fit on the tongue. under cheap shiny chrome. Seems strong enough, but the plastic sheath doesn't hold the knifeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are problems

Bored then we went to water sports

I had an old Gerber flow meter that lived on my life jacket for years, rubber grip and strong sheath. He has survived countless river to sea fishing trips in my kayak. It was dented and a bit rusty so I decided to replace it with this knife. I like the size and feel of the River Shorty, but it wasn't very sharp when I got it. I have many sharpening tools and I know how to effectively sharpen teeth. So I got it by carefully cutting the paper and installing it on my life jacket. Then, as I wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

  • Could have chosen a newer model

It will rust even if you take care of it.

I only bought this knife a few weeks ago and am very pleased with the way it looks and how well it sits on my seat belt. The sheath is the perfect size and I don't even realize the knife is there, even when diving. However, the knife is already rusty. Rust appeared after my FIRST dive. After I finished my dive, I washed the knife and sheath in fresh water and let them dry like I always do with all my scuba gear. After drying, I saw that rust had formed on the knife. I take very good care of myโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Strap

I used to have a knife: NRS Co-Pilot Knife Yellow One Size. Both knives are similar in that they are both sharp and blunt to avoid injury. Also, both knives were designed to be easily removed from their sheaths, which is where the problem lies. The sheaths of both knives attach to the loops of your life jacket. Both fit snugly to ensure the scabbard does not come loose. If you perform any type of rolling or self-rescue where you can even slightly bump into the knife/sheath, you couldโ€ฆ
