This battery is NOT compatible with a Yaesu FT-50r that came with a NI-Cad and the appropriate charger. The description should be more precise. I'm afraid I had to return the battery because the appropriate charger would be another $35. And even with the right charger, I can't say for sure it would work.The battery was loose on the back of my ft-50r, but did make good electrical contact and powered up the radio, in spite of not charging with the factory charger.Additionally, I didn't get a belt clip. The belt clip that came with my factory battery had to be installed and removed with a small mallet as the fit was so right.In spite of all this I am giving the product four stars, as it's what it would have earned if the description hadn't been confusing and wrong.
