Bought a 3145 OB-1 scanner which worked great but was a chore to use without that extension cord. So I bought this cable separately. As others have stated, when plugging the extension cord into the scanner, it pushed one of the pins on the scanner back against the scanner's body. I didn't notice until I removed the cable. I was very cautious when I first plugged in the cable after reading other reviewers' comments. I didn't want to return them both because when they work, they work really great. Since the pin on the scanner didn't go all the way in, I pulled it back out, added some dielectric grease to lubricate it, and carefully pushed the cable back in. I couldn't tell if contact had returned or not. I lit it and it worked. I will never unplug the cord again! Lesson learned, grease pins/cables before first use and then just leave them plugged in. Otherwise, you're just asking for trouble.
