I broke my old plastic dustpan and bought two new dustpans, one metal and one plastic. This metal shovel is definitely durable. But durability also means heavier weight. In addition, the size makes handling somewhat awkward. My cat uses two types of litter: soluble pine litter for urination and clumping nut litter for urination and feces. The holes on this paddle are too big to use with pine litter so I use 5gis for clumping walnut litter. I am more than satisfied with this scoop and I am sure that I will have this scoop for a long time.
