Review on πŸ“ Enhanced Qstarz BT-Q1000XT Bluetooth GPS Data Logger Receiver (66 Channels, AGPS, Vibration Sensor, 400K Waypoints) by Bashar Shaffer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works very well with portable GPS

This is my second standalone Bluetooth GPS receiver. Pairing with a device I really had to work with. I bought BT-Q1000XT because it works. I thought about getting a cheaper (no logging) version but decided that for the extra price I would also get logging and maybe one day I could actually use it. This blocks very quickly (<5 seconds), even indoors. It fits and works well with everything I need (and a few things I don't need). I tried logging myself and it worked fine showing my path, speed and altitude. I'm giving four stars instead of five because the software is pathetic. It only works on Windows (I would prefer OS/X) and is not intuitive to use. There is a (free) utility written in Java (and therefore also works on Macbooks) that has almost the same functionality. The included "free" cover is very cheap and ugly, but better than nothing.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Can't remember
