Works well but could be more useful

Works exactly as promised. But I wish I could buy a device with a minimal display that shows speed, elevation, and distance traveled so I can use it while exercising.

Pros
 • Consistent test results
Cons
 • Some minor issues

Average GPS performance, good battery life

Used on a trip to Beijing a few weeks ago. Couldn't pick up a single trace on the plane. Lots of bustle. Good battery life and storage capacity. The included software is not polished. GPS data cannot be written to RAW photos.

Pros
 • Easy to read control panel
Cons
 • So far so good

This is probably the best GPS logger on the market

This is probably the best GPS logger on the market. I bought a couple of these in 2008 to geotag my photos. Tracks are saved in GPX files and then scanned into images using Photo Mechanic. The devices are incredibly reliable. A few years ago I replaced the batteries with available phone batteries. You can keep a record of data for several days. I upload tracks and update my photos daily. I have never tried to geotag images with Qstarz software. I'm sure it will work for JPG files but probablyโ€ฆ

love it - the software is a bit raw

Works as advertised. Very sensitive receiver - works on my desk at home where my Garmin 60CS will not be. The data logger is huge (100,000) points - it doubles in the new version. Doesn't slide on the car dash, easy to set up AND it lasts forever on a single charge (well 30 hours but I couldn't keep it running long enough to test it. I just charge it after each use because I only have one battery, although I can plug in a USB cable and charge that way while using it if the battery runs out.Theโ€ฆ

Great unit for GPS, finders and accessories

This is my first GPS logger but so far I'm very happy with it. I bought it just before I drove to Puget Sound. This thing worked like a charm whether it was Olympic National Park, Victoria or Seattle. The only place I had issues was the EMP in Seattle, and it was gloomy due to the thick interior walls. The software works as it should. Since I'm shooting in RAW and using gpicsync to actually write the data to EXIF, but as far as getting the data, the included software works great. Oh, and theโ€ฆ

Good tracker but software needs improvement

Does what it's supposed to, tracks GPS coordinates. The battery life is excellent. The problem I'm having is related to the QTravel software that came with the device. The software can collect data points from the device, but when I tried to export to a GPX file to import into Lightroom, I found that large amounts of data were missing from the resulting file. I've spent a lot of time with their support team, they aren't the most responsive but willing to try and help. We could see that thereโ€ฆ

Works very well with portable GPS

This is my second standalone Bluetooth GPS receiver. Pairing with a device I really had to work with. I bought BT-Q1000XT because it works. I thought about getting a cheaper (no logging) version but decided that for the extra price I would also get logging and maybe one day I could actually use it. This blocks very quickly (<5 seconds), even indoors. It fits and works well with everything I need (and a few things I don't need). I tried logging myself and it worked fine showing my path, speed

Pros
 • Decent performance
Cons
 • Can't remember

Short impression: (more detailed opinion later)

I have many GPS's but I liked this one for its excellent visibility, size, battery life and dual log/navigation. .So I got it and am trying it for about a week!1. Tracking accuracy and sensitivity! It's the best I've ever had (compared to Garmin Forerunner 310, Foretrex210, 60GPSSCx, older models of course). Tracking in dense canopy is very good and true when even my predecessor 310, which used to be my best handheld for sensitivity, started to drift. (I did a crude experiment by putting theโ€ฆ
